Unionized workforce makes 30% more

If you guys want to sell the fact FedEx can take away compensation at anytime, you fail to mention that with Teamster's representing us, we could have this legally binding contract renegotiated and lose just as much and possibly more with you representing us.

Not true, why would you and your co-workers vote to approve a contract that has less then what you have? The answer is simple....you won’t, and the company knows that. That’s why traditionally companies don’t like unions because it gives the workers the power to approve or reject a contract by secret ballot. This power is the reason that workers in a unionized workforce make an average of 30% more than their non-union counterparts.

The law protects you

The Canada Labour Code makes it crystal clear that you are protected from intimidation or worse from your employer as you consider joining a union. Here's what it has to say.

No employer or person acting on behalf of an employer shall:

(a) refuse to employ or to continue to employ or suspend, transfer, lay off or otherwise discriminate against any person with respect to employment, pay or any other term or condition of employment or intimidate, threaten or otherwise discipline any person, because the person

(i) is or proposes to become, or seeks to induce any other person to become, a member, officer or representative of a trade union or participates in the promotion, formation or administration of a trade union.
