Ground contractor
We pay for uniforms and other items from FedEx. What is it like for a Purolator Contractor? I would like to join but my manager says we can't organize.
Teamsters Response:
At Purolator the owner/operators do not pay for uniforms or anything else from the company.
Purolator owner/operators also receive the same health and welfare benefits that the hourly workforce gets.
They also receive
- A fuel clause/cap of 61.8 litres
- Daily guarantee
- In some provinces their WCB coverage is paid by the company
And yes you can organize under the Labour Code
