It has been reported that some FedEx locations across Canada are offering casuals the opportunity to become part-time employees and full-time positions are being created that will be offered to the part-timers. We are told these jobs are only open to employees who work at these locations.
Since the organizing drive started we have heard that management might look into or give back the following things……
- Tuition payments
- Give some of the pension back
- Increase the merit based pay structure
- Offer more part-time jobs to casuals
- Offer more full-time jobs to part-timers
- Better benefits with less of a deduction
WHY WON’T FEDEX GUARANTEE THESE THINGS?
WHY DID FEDEX WAIT UNTIL THEIR WORKERS STARTED ORGANIZING BEFORE MAKING PROMISES?
IS IT TOO MUCH OF A HEADACHE TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT WITH IT'S EMPLOYEES?
IS FEDEX DANGLING PROMISES AND CARROTS THAT CAN BE TAKEN AWAY AGAIN?
