A Need for Urgent Change
I have been watching on the side lines , taking in information, listening to other workers, and watching managers behaviour trying to decide whether or not I would be willing to support a Union. After a very long time and much thought I have come to the conclusion that there is definately an Urgent Need for Change at Fedex. Loyalty is a very large part of my work ethic and over the years, I have felt pretty blessed to have a company that fosters relastionships, helps employee's grow and commits to us as individuals. That was then......and this is now...... Over the past several months, I have seen such a downturn in events that I just cannot believe it. I have seen managers behaviors change drastically, to the point where I do not even think they know what is what anymore. Micro managing, questioning employee's for silly little descretions which are explanable, disempowering, cuts, cuts, cuts to hours, disorganziation, questioning the intregrity of the employee's, lack of leadership, deflection of blame and the list goes on..........What a Shame. I do not know what is going on but there has been a significant change in attitude towards the philsophy that grew on me in the past, that I have to wonder how my future will be impacted no matter what happens. There is an Urgent Need for Change and quite possibly, the Teamsters are the answer to put things back into place as they should be. Thank you.

The truth is... Strikes are a rare last resort in contract negotiations – more than 95% of Teamster contracts are negotiated without a strike. A strike will only happen when a majority of workers vote to call one. Read more >
