Being put out to pasture
Hi, I just wanted to inform the Teamsters and Fedex employees of a horrible little policy fedex has that not everyone knows about. I'm over 65 years old,but for various reasons I do not wish to,not can I retire right away. I was shocked to discover that after you turn 65 years old and continue to work at fedex you lose many benefits. For instance, your life insurance gets reduced from 2 times your yearly earnings to 1 time your earnings. You also lose all your long term sick benefits and drug benefits are reduced among other things. This is how Fedex,"a people company",treats employee's who have given them decades of work and loyalty, not to mention that this policy is clearly an age discrimination issue. But that's what happens when employee's are not unionized,a company has to much power and as the old saying goes,"power corrupts".
Teamsters Response:
I am sorry to hear about your situation. Without a collective agreement being in place I would suggest you pay a visit to your local Federal Human Rights Office.
Good-luck!!

Myth #4: FedEx management say’s it will close any unionized terminal
It is against the law to say that or any threat. FedEx hasn’t closed its unionized European operations nor have they eliminated their unionized pilots. So why would they shut you down? The answer is simple: “it’s only a scare tactic”.
