THAT’S RIGHT A F/T PUROLATOR COURIER MAKES $6,082.50 MORE MONEY PER YEAR THEN YOU DO!!
(Based on a 8 hrs shift 5 days per week)
•100% paid benefits are worth $65 a month to each F/T Purolator Courier.
•100% paid pension plan is worth $70 a month to each F/T Purolator Courier.
•To have the same wage as the average F/T Purolator Courier you would have to make $24.37 per hrs.

SO LET’S DO THE MATH

•$24.37 per hrs (Ave. Teamsters Purolator Rate) minus $23 per hrs (Ave. FedEx Rate) = $1.37 per hrs.
•Break the deductions of the average FedEx pay period down to an hourly deduction. It costs the average FedEx F/T Driver approx .40 cents per hour for option 2 health and welfare coverage. It costs the average F/T FedEx driver approx .75 cents per hour in pension contributions. Ok, so that equals approx. $1.15 per hour in deductions for the average F/T FedEx Driver.
•$23 per hrs (F/T FedEx Driver) minus (-) $1.15 per hrs in deductions = $21.85 per hrs after deductions.
•$24.37 per hrs (F/T Purolator Driver) minus (-) $21.85 (F/T FedEx Driver) = $2.52 per hour difference.
•$2.52 x 40 hrs x 52 weeks = $5,241.60 per year.
•$5,241.60 plus the value of 100% paid benefits and pension = $135 a month or $1,620 a year.
•$5,241.60 plus $1,620 = $6,861.60

THE END RESULT

$6,861.60 - $ 779.10 (union dues) = $6,082.50 more money in your pocket per year.

Myth #3: If you form a union, you risk losing the benefits and pay raises you already have

The truth is... It is illegal for a company to freeze or cut previously scheduled raises to discourage you from forming a union.  Once you’re organized, you’ll lock in current wages and benefits and then negotiate improvements from there. Read more >
