Barrie
What is the next step for us in Barrie? How long will this process take and is it certain that we have joined with Teamsters? Is there any turning back? Could this last post be a stall tactic for Teamsters seeing the union cards are only good for six months? How can it be possible for one location to be under a union and the others not? Will we still have the same benefits we currently do?
Teamsters Canada Response:
Q-What is the next step for us in Barrie?
A-Everyone must wait for the Labour Board to rule on the application.
Q-How long will this process take and is it certain that we have joined with Teamsters?
A-The Labour Board in conjunction with the Lawyers submissions on both sides will determine the length of the process and the Labour Board will decide if you have joined the Teamsters.
Q-How can it be possible for one location to be under a union and the others not?
A-The Canada Labour Code allows groups to organize as long as the proposed bargaining unit is considered valid for the purpose of collective bargaining.
Q-Could this last post be a stall tactic for Teamsters seeing the union cards are only good for six months?
A-I truly don't see a purpose in stalling.
Q-Will we still have the same benefits we currently do?
A-Why would they take them away as FedEx's profit has more than doubled, not to mention it's against the Law for an employer to take away benefits because of your interest in unionizing.

Myth #4: FedEx management say’s it will close any unionized terminal
It is against the law to say that or any threat. FedEx hasn’t closed its unionized European operations nor have they eliminated their unionized pilots. So why would they shut you down? The answer is simple: “it’s only a scare tactic”.
