Pay Differences
Pay scale difference...... I notice from some information on the internet that UPS Drivers in the USA ( Package car & feeders) are making almost 5 dollar more an hour.... why is it so far apart( 24.84- canada & 29.65- usa) they will be over 30 dollars per hour in August..... Also the huge difference in pension pay...... 3600 per month after 25 years in USA vs 1600+ in Canada after 25-30 years........ with the pension I assume it could be the number employees involved? and years it's been in existance, but why are the pay scale so different? Thanks
Teamsters Canada Response:
Yes you are 100% correct! The Teamsters USA collective agreement is almost 100 years old and as the agreement matures so do the pay and benefits. Teamsters Canada has had UPS for approx. 30 years in Canada and the non-union competition(FedEx) pays less in Canada then the US which makes it difficult to win parady.

Info on union busting
While the right to join and form trade unions is recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR),[1] union busting actions subvert the organization and continuation of unions by sowing discord amongst union members, challenging unions via law courts, strike breaking, lockouts, violent suppression, the sponsorship of anti-union organizations, or the creation of employer-controlled trade unions.
