Lunch hours and a pattern of policy changes
Hi,I'm a part time courier at FedEx.I average 3-4 hours per day. There has been a policy at FedEx for as long as I can remember that states; "If you have worked under 6 hours in a given day you are not obliged to take a lunch, if you worked between 6-8 hours you must take a min of 30 minutes for lunch and if you work over 8 hours you must take at least a full hour for lunch." Even though I followed the main people policy at FedEx, I have been given a warning letter because I didn't take a lunch a few weeks ago when I worked 4 hours that day. I have been told by my manger that I must take a lunch and that any people policy that FedEx has can be changed at the discretion of the station manager. How can it be that FedEx can come up with rules and policy's that can end up being changed/modified by different stations and thus making these policy's total inconsistent with different city's/stations? Of coarse, that small potatoes to what Davis Binks did by adding that disclaimer to the back of the FY11 rewards package.wooo I'm scared. Well one thing is for sure, anyone in Fedex management can changed whatever policy they see fit. And without a teamsters contract, fedex employess are sitting ducks. FedEx has really become a nefarious underhanded greedy and unethical company.

The truth is... It is illegal for a company to freeze or cut previously scheduled raises to discourage you from forming a union. Once you’re organized, you’ll lock in current wages and benefits and then negotiate improvements from there. Read more >
