Ask Away
David Binks
It seems David Binks is no longer with Fedex Canada. Word is His contract expired and got sent back to Europe. Me thinks otherwise.I guess He couldn't Handel the teamsters and is being punished cause of the Barrie station getting unionized. I predict many more in management will get the axe.
Teamsters Canada Response:
I have not heard anything regarding David Binks. Thank you for your post.
Thanks to Teamsters.
I would like to thank Teamsters for bringing change to my station. Before Teamsters arrived on the scene the companies portion of our pension was taken away ..., we were stuck in Casual, Part time, Time share positions and the fulltime driver positions were always being offered to drivers outside of our station. read more »
lay offs
This is the 3rd time asking this question, in the last 20 yrs how many layoffs have Purolator and UPS had? . Who many has fedex had?
Teamsters Canada Response:
None, as far as I know? There may have been a few, but being the huge growth in both companies I would assume all employees with more than 2 years of service are well protected!
job bidding
There is a process in place where I can bid on jobs in other depts and warehouses if i qualify. How would it work if one dept/Station was unionized and the other was not. would I still be able to bid on those jobs?
Teamsters Canada Response:
Sure, why wouldn't you? There are lots of companies (like IKEA) which have both unionized and non-union dept/stations which allow bidding between stores.
BIG TRUCK
Just wondering why the big truck sitting outside of the downtown Toronto Station? I love it! With all the things people are doing to make the managers bonuses bigger, this I would say is justice. I've talked to Purolator and UPS employees and this stuff doesn't happen.
Oh by the way congrats on the UPS contract. I heard they got a 38% increase in their pension. Go Teamsters go.
Teamsters Canada Response:
Thank you for your kind comments.
Thank you again Teamsters Canada!
I just wanted to say Thank You Teamsters Canada for the support you've given to me through all of the turmoil I've faced with FXG. Teamsters have stood beside us from the beginning of our campaign and they still continue to show our organizing committee and our peers their support. I think this is a clear indication of which side is really on our side. FXG claims that their goal is to operate an environment which is free of intimidation and retaliation. read more »

top end pay in Canada
Hello, I have been a courier at Fedex for 26 years. Yes i am very frustrated with the way we have been treated as workers. Top end pay in my region is 22.98, how does that compare to Canada couriers. Thanks
Teamsters Canada Response:
At Purolator and UPS the benefits and pension are 100% paid by the company, so considering that fact you are approx. $3 per hour behind ($6,000-$7,000 per year). Top pay is obtained after 2 years at Purolator and 2 1/2 years at UPS.
Thanks for your question!
Expansion in Calgary
This is to add to a previous comment about building expansion. Fed Ex just announced that they are planning a multi-million dollar expansion of the Fed Ex Express building in Calgary. The building is only a few years old too, what great planning. It's funny last year they were crying poor and now they have the money for this big expansion.
Teamsters Canada Response:
Thank you for your post.
